COUNTY CENTRES

(Front Our Own Correspondents.) PENDARVES. The rainfall for December, 1927, was 3.23 in., and for 1926, 2.30 in. For the year 1927 it was 25.83 in., and for 1926 ’2u.B6in. SEAFIELD. Reaping has begun in this district, the first crop of Algerians being cut by Mr;J. Mitchell. This looks very promising, and it is estimated that- it will yield at least 45 bushels. On Monday night a severe thunderstorm was experienced, accompanied by a heavy downpour. Some crops were weighed down for a time, but recovered in the sunshine that followed. The rain was warm, and did an immense amount ol good to root crops. Early-sown turnips and rape are doing well, and some tape crops are ready for feeding off. There is an abundant supply of feed at present; and good drafts of fat lambs are being got away.
