PERSONAL.

Miss O. M. Heenan, of Ashburton, passed in English, and History, Stage 1,8. A., at recent University examinations. Mr T. A. Ambrose, teller at the Union Bank of Australia, Itangiora, and formerly of Ashburton, has been granted six months leave of absence on account of ill-health. Messrs J. Brown (LowclifFe) and J. Carr (Methven) will represent Canterbury at the meeting of Wheat Committee to be held in Christchurch tomorrow. Dr. Phyllis Moir, late of the Thames Hospital, was appointed house surgeon at the County Hospital, at a meeting of the Board this morning. Dr. Moir will succeed Dr. Janet Grave, who has resigned from the staff. Mr F. J. Williams, of Dunedin, (consulting engineer to the Ashburton Borough) is at present in Ashburton taking levels for a. new berbing to run through certain of the Hampstead streets.
