(Received This Day, 1.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 21. “Only by breaking down tariff barriers can a world financial breakdown be avoided,” declared Sir John Paish, the famous economist, and financial authority, in a speech at Manchester. He added: “AVe are in sight of world freetrade. Britain is already en route to full protection of all industries. The Government is only waiting for the opportunity to introduce move safeguarding duties.”
