ITALIAN GIFT TO ENGLAND. ITCTT.F. OF A CENTURY AGO. (Per .Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 8.20 a.m.) LONDON, December 21. The Italian Ambassador, on behalf of the Italian Government, nresented the British Government with the first copy printed of a special centenary edition of Ugo Foscolo’s poem 6, prefaced with the following inscription., signed by Mussolini: “To England, hospitable to the exile and the first burying place of Ugo Foscolo, the head oF the Italian Government has prosented this book on tlie centenary of the death of the ‘ltalian poet, as a mark of gratitude and a token of the lasting spiritual fellow-feeling between the two nations.” The volume will be placed in the British Museum. Foscolo was buried at Turaham Green and his remains transferred to Florence in 1871.
