Arising out of a discussion at the May meeting of the North Canterbury executive ot the Farmers' Union regarding the potato crops, the executive caused inquiries to be made m the southern districts. The. Agricultural Committee of the executive met yesterday and issued the following reThe information to hand from the southern districts fully confirms the information regarding the potato crops, that was received by the executive at its meeting on May 25. It is evident from these reports that the potato crop will not be much more than half of that of last year, and that there will be a remarkably large proportion of small potatoes. It is apparent from this information that the price of potatoes must rise as the season advances The matter originally was brought under the notice of executive by a letter from Mr D. Jones*, M.P.
