A BRIGHT WINTER DAY. Owing to the sky being o verc «f*S early this morning, only »*» W*f*of frost were recorded. The sny cleared before dawn, however, ana a bright sunny morning resulted. £ light north-west wind was blowing a* noon. The afternoon was contfortawy warm, the wind, which was ratner cold, having ceased. «j.«n* The barometer, at 9.o'clock, stood at 29.97 inches, as against 30.11 yesand. minimum temperatures for the period were 46 and 32 respectively, compared with 44 an* 27 on Tuesday. OFFICIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast was for westerly wind, moderate to strong and backing bywest to south. There is a prospect of fair weaSer, but weather cloudy to overcast at times. Barometer unsteady.
