WILKINS IN ARCTIC.
TOUR OF EXPLORATION. FLIGHT TO UNKNOWN REGION. PT. BARROW (Alaska), May 30. Captain G. H. AVilkins, with Algar Graham as his pilot, arrived here on Saturday, after a perfect trip over the Endicott Mountains. He used his Stinson 'plane, as "The Alaskan" requires a new propeller, which did not arrive. He is now "grooming" his 'plane for a hop into the Arctic "blind spot." "If there is land there," he declared, "we will find it. We will also gather meteorological and other scientific data. Ducks and geese fly into this* region from Pt. Barrow every spring, so many old-timers believe, that land lies in that direction. No man has been where we are going. Our flight may bring us out at Grant Land or Greenland, or it may mean an all-summer trek across the icefields for us."
