PICTURE-SHOW COMPETITIONS. NO LAW TO STOP THEM. (Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. A deputation of the Women Citizen's Movement asked the Chief Secretary (Mr S. M. Prandergast) to prohibit competitions for girls' in bathing suits at picture theatres. Mr Prendergast replied that in the absence of a strong body of public opinion, and under the existing law, fie was unable to prevent bathing beauty competitions.
