THE CHANNEL SWIM.
MYSTERY OF SPACEK'S CLAIM. (Press Association—Copyright.) PRAGUE, June 13. Mystery still surrounds 1 the claim by Spacek (a young Czecho-Slovakian) to have swum the Channel. He stated emphatically to-day that he certainly established a record, despite the attempt to discredit him. He repeats his declaration that the Mayor of Dover was present when he landed, and is preparing an affidavit to that effect, but if the storv is not accepted he will repeat the swim next week.
