GOLF.

THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The ladies’ section of the Ashburton Golf Club conducted a number of matches on the local links yesterday afternoon, when a collection, was taken up in aid of the Club’s funds. Entries were very good for all the events and some good cards were handed in. The foursomes match was won by Miss Z. Bonnington and Mrs E. H. Urr, while Miss E. Stewart won the senaor prize for the approaching and putting competition and Mrs W. Dickinson t e junior prize. ASHBURTON V. HAREWOOD. Two teams representing the Ashburton Golf Club will play games with outside teams to-morrow. One team will go to Harewood to meet a local team, and the other will play Methven, at Methven.
