AMERICA AND MEXICO. RECOMMENDATION TO SENATE. ACCEPTANCE ANTICIPATED. M :n'id!'. (Per Press Association—Copyright.) (Received 1 This Day, 9.55 a.m.) WASHINGTON, January 2L Arbitration with Mexico over the oil/.dispute was brought appreciably nearer when the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, by 13 votes to 3, decided to report to the Senate a modified resolution expressing the opinion that the administration should accept arbitration in the dispute. Senator Borah (chairman of the Committee) declared that the resolution would be brought before the Senate on Monday. The overwhelming vote in favour of reporting the resolution practically assured its adoption. The resolution was primarily introduced by -Senator Robinson, as it now stands, and merely expresses the opinion of the Senate that arbitration should be resorted to. It also indicates the means by which this would be effected. In conjunction with the recent attitude of the Secretary of State- (Mr Kellog) it is expected to assure an, amicable settlement.
