Market quiet. New Zealand.—Finest salted (new season’s) 170 s to 172 s per cwt., (Is 6*d to Is 6*d per lb). Other qualities: 160 s to 164 s (Is 5d tot Is s*d). Finest stored : 160 bto 164 s (Is 5d to Is s*d). Other qualities: 154 s to 158 s (Is 4*d to Is 4|d), New Zealand Control Board official minimum prices are Finest: 172 s (Is 6*d). First grade: 170 s (Is 6*d). Australian.—Salted: 164 s to 170 s (Is 5-id to Is 6*d). Unsalted: 168 sto 172 s (Is 6d to Is 6Jd). Other qualities: 140 s to 162 s (Is 3d to Is s£d). Canadian.—l64s to 165 s (Is s*d). Other qualities: 160 s to 162 s (Is 5d to Is s|-d). Argentine.—Unsalted: 154 s to 160 s (Is 4*d to Is sd). Other qualities: 136 s to 152 s (Is 2*d to Is 4£d). Danish.-—l7Bs to 182 s (Is 7d to Is 7id). , 1 Cheese. Canadian market steady. New Zealand slow. Official quotations are:— English Finest B'armors’.—loßs to 112 s (llid to Is). Canadian.—Finest coloured: 94s to 96s (lOd to 10*d). Exceptional: 98s (10id). White: 94s to 98s (lOd to 10id). New Zealand.—Coloured and white: 95s to 96s (lOd to lOJd). Control Board minimum prices are:—Finest: 9£s (10£d). First Grade: 95s (lOd). Australian coloured: 03s (9|d). Australian white: 95s (lOd). Tallow. Market quiet but steady. Better prices expected. No auction this week owing to the Christmas holidays.
Eggs. Prices lower, but very little business being done. Present quotations are:— English, Dutch, Danish 24s to 27s per long 100; Belgian 20s to 225; Australian 18s to 18s 6d; Argentine 15s 'to 16s; Polish, Chinese, Egyptian 9s 6d to 13s 6d. Hemp. Manila market dnll hut firm. “J” grade afloat sold £4B 15s per ton., No-vember-January shipments quoted at £4B per ton. Sisal, quiet and easier. Nominal value Tanganyika and Kenya No. 1 £4l 17s. Position in New Zealand quiet, with highpoint nominally 15s per ton cheaper. Fair £36; Common £33 6s. December-February shipments afloat 10s above these figures. Stocks of New Zealand hemp in London on 30th November were 11 tons as against 98 tons at the same time last year. Tow. Market slow on the basis of £26 10s per ton for No. 2. W®ol. No change.
