RACE FATALITY.
AN APPRENTICE KILLED.
TWO HORSES DESTROYED. (Per Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) PERTH, This Day. Derby Day was marred by a serious accident. In the Karrapataa Plate, on rounding a turn one horse fell, bringing down four others. Alfred Todd, an apprentice riding Merry Beggar, was; so seriously injured that he died in the hospital. A jockey, Corry, was also taken to the hospital seriously injured. Two horses were badly hurt and had to be destroyed.
