AIR LINE TO INDIA.
THE PIONEER CRAFT.
PROGRESS TOAVARD KARACHI. (Per Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, December 23. The air liners, bound for Karachi, have arrived at Homs, in Syria. A Cairo cablegram states that the air liners, while crossing Senussi territory, flew the Union Jack, in order to avoid possible agression by warlike tribesmen, who are unfriendly toward the Italians, seme of whose fliers met a terrible fate at natives’ hands two months ago. The second starter of the two air liners arrived at Cairo first. The passengers were delighted with their experiences. Sir Sefton Branckcr’s machine was delayed through descending for petrol in Catania, Sicily, after encountering a heavy gale for 50 miles from Naples. The second starter accomplished the last 190 miles to Cairo under three hours.
