BOTH CARS DAMAGED. ACCIDENT NEAR RACECOURSE. A collision between a seven-seater Hudson sedan taxi driven by Mr J. Welsh and a five-seater Buick car driven by Gr. Chilils 3 oiccuiiGd rd the intersection of West Street and Racecourse Road about 5.30 last evening. , . r Mr Welsh, who was returning from Ashburton to the racecourse, turned out of East Street into Racecourse Road, and was crossing the West Street intersection, when the other car, which was proceeding in the opposite direction, collided with him. There were several people in Mr Child s car, but no one was hurt. The mudguard, lamp, and bumper bar of the Hudson were badly crumpled, while the radiator and bonnet of the Buick were smashed.
