BOXING. JANSEN DEFEATS TROWERN. PALMERSTON N., December 27. In a fifteen-round contest for £l5O aside to-niglit Jansen (France) defeated Trowern on points after a splendid contest, in which infighting was predominant. The decision of the referee, Mr Watchorn, was popularly received.
CASEY DEFEATS HAY. WESTPORT, December 27. The professional boxing. match, H. Casey v. A. Hay, at the Westport boxing tourney to-night, finished in the sixth round, when Casey, after being warned about not making the fight willing enough, walked in with a right and left and knocked out Hay.
