I A DEFAULTING HUSBAND. (Per Press Association.) NELSON, March 29. What Senior-Sergeant Barrett described as "one of the worst cases he had had to deal with,", was before Mr Maurisell,' S'.M., to-day, when Leonard Farnworth (who did not appear) was charged-'with failing to comply with the terms of his probation license. Defendant, for a breach of a maintenance, order in respect to his wife, some months ago, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, to report to the police monthly, and also to notify the police if he left the district. Senior-Sergeant Barrett said that defendant had not done so, and his whereabouts were not known. The Magistrate imposed a sentence of six months' imprisonment.
