CROQUET.
METHVEN DEFEATS ASHBURTON
'The Methven Croquet Club played a match at. Methven yesterday against a team from the Ashburton Club. The visitors were entertained at morning tea by the local club prior to the commencement of the game, and later to luncheon and afternoon tea. At the conclusion of the game Mr Carter, on behalf of the visitors, thanked the Methven players for their hospitality and th© very enjoyable day provided. Mrs G. Nicholls, president of the local club, replied. The match, played in fine weather, resulted in a win for Methven.
