SEAMEN TO RETURN TO SHIPS. AUSTRALIAN COASTAL DISPUTE. .(Per Press Association —Copyright.) SYDNEY, March 30. A meeting of the Seamen's Union, at which 600 members were present, carried a motion of no-confidence in Mr T. Walsh and condemned his activities and those of certain other officials in seeking the re-registration of the Union under what tbey described as a set of infamous rules. The motions were carried in the name of the Seamen's Union of Australia and/ New Zealand. It is stated that a special requisition meeting will be held on Wednesday to consider the immediate suspension of Mr Walsh. It was also resolved that members should return to the coastal ships in the best way they could on the old terms, hoping by this means to abolish the volunteers.

The strikers will have to wait until vacancies occur in the crews before they can re-enter the service. The decision caused a surprise in. shipping circles., as the seamen had emphatically stated at tlie beginning of the strike that they would not resume duty until the owners had dispensed with the services of volunteers.
