THE SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM. (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. At the annual meeting of the British Football Association the matter of fixtures against the South African team was debated, and to ensure games against New South Wales it was decided to advise New Zealand that ‘‘the necessary financial guarantee would be increased and that an effort he made to have the South Africans in Sydney, on their way to Dominion, in July.”

GERMAN LADY CHAMPION. (Reuter.) (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) CANNES, February 15. A new element has been added to the interest in the coming lawn tennis match between Mdlle. Suzanne Lenglen (France) and Miss Helen Wills (United States) in the shape of a letter from Fraulein Nepaeh (the German champion) announcing her arrival on March 17, and expressing a wish to meet the winner.
