SAVING OF £2,000,000 A YEAR. ♦Per Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, February 14. Mr W. C. Bridgeman, (First Lord of the Admiralty), in a speech at Torquay, announced that the Admiralty economies would not only cover the whole cost of the new construction programme, but would save the taxpayer over £2,000,000 a year besides, without depriving the Navy of the power of carrying out its duties.
