Imperials only scoied -5 i Federation Commission. Messis Hugo Friedlander and Dayid Thomas have been called by the Federation Commission to appear ou Monday morning to give tlieir opinions' upon the question of federating with the Commonwealth. ! Plantation Fire.—About midday on Wednesday a fire broke' out in a plantation situated about two miles from I Dromore. The fire began close to the railway and Ganger Simpson with his men were quickly on the spot. A strong northwest wind was blowing at the time, and it looked as if there would be a serious conflagration. Jhis, however was averted by the strenuous efforts of the railway men, who after a two hours’ battle with the flames succeeded in subduing the fire. Mr Simpson and his men deserye credit for their promptness in dealing with the emergency, for it is possible that a considerable extent of country would otherwise have been devastated and crops destroyed.
