THE FRONTIER CLASH
FURTHER BLOODSHED. GREEKS ATTACK BULGARIANS. THREE POSTS OCCUPIED.
(Per Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) SOFIA, October 22. A semi-official statement reports that a detachment of Greeks, with artillery, entered Bulgarian territory and attacked Bulgarian sentinels, five of whom were killed. Other Bulgarian soldiers retired, and the Greeks occupied three posts.
GREECE SENTS UNTIMATUM. BIG INDEMNITY DEMANDED. ATHENS, October 21. I The Greek Government has sent an I ultimatum to the Bulgarian Government in connection with the frontier incident, giving a time limit of 48 hours, and demanding an indemnity of 2,000,000 French francs, an expression of regret, and punishment of those responsible. Tlie Premier states that the troops for the time being are not entering Bulgaria. They will only he stationed along the frontier. The initiative for further measures is left to the commanding officer of the 3rd Army Corps. The Foreign Minister, M. Renois, lias resigned, and the Naval Minister, M. Jikiriakos, will replace him temporarily. THE ULTIMATUM ACCEPTED. (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, October 22. The “Daily Express’ ” Athens correspondent reports that Bulgaria has accepted the Greek ultimatum.
