THE WEATHER

THREATENING APPEARANCE. The sky to-day is dull and overcast, and the weather is sultry. Several light showers of rain fell in the morning, and further rain is threatening. The barometer has fallen 31 points since yesterday, standing at 29.49 inches. Yesterday’s temperatures ranged between 51 and 71 degrees, compared with 60 and 78 on the previous day.

OFFICIAL FORECAST. Indications are for .variable and strong breezes, westerly winds, strong to gale prevailing, and backing by west to south. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, rain probable, and cooler. The baromdfiw rising soon.
