. DIRECTOR'S REPORT. A+ th« meetinjToF the Ashburton Technical ScWßoard, this afternoon the Director (Mr R. J. Thompson) reported"that the full representatives had been re-elected namely: -Messrs Reid (representing County Council), Tohn Watson (Borough Council). JJ. JE Smalbone (WloW Term examinations were held last week and a fortnight's holidays would commence on Friday. The school would re-open oTi Monday, August 31, Though all fees should have been paid before commencement of the term, an unusual amount was outstanding As the Education Department insisted on the tees being collected some extra means | of collecting them would have Jo be resorted to. With reference to the invitation from the Greymouth Technical School to send a football and two basketball teams, the Director stated that the number to make the trio would be limited to 20 boys and 60 girls, with instructors.
