WORKERS SEEK AN INCREASE. (Per Pr«» Association— Copyright.) MELBOURNE, August 12. The Commonwealth Arbitration Court has commenced hearing applications for variations of the pastoralists' award, affecting over 40,000 employees in alt States except Queensland • One application is by the Australian Workers' Union for increased wages for shearers and station hands, the Union asking that the rates for flock sheep, wethers, ewes, and lambs be increased to £3 per 100, instead of the existing rate of 38s.
