COMPETITION MATCHES. The second round of the Gala Cup senior ladies’ hockey competition, and the junior tournament, were advanced another stage on Saturday afternoon. Results wbre as follows: — Senior Grade—Te Miharo 3, High School Old Girls 0; High School 10, Hinds 6. p „ . „ TT . , _ . Junior Grade—Rakaia 2, High School' 0; Methven 6, Allenton B 0. Following are details of the play:— Senior Grade. The match between Te Miharo and High School Old Girls, played at Ashburton, wa9 a very scrappy one. The Rakaia team held the advantage throughout. Their hitting and' tackr lino- were much better, bur indifferent liitiiug in the circle spoilt their chance of a much greater score. The shooting at goal by the Old Girls was inaftectiye, their shots going wide Goails for ie Aiiharo were scored by Misses M. bmitn (2) and B- Donaldson. Mr H. A. Humphreys was referee. Hi<'li School had decidedly the better of tlie game against .blinds, who got away on only one or two occasions, out failed to register. ■ lhe Hinds goalie accidentally put one into tne i~i urh School not. Goals were scored by Misses 13. Miliichamp (4), YV. Falconer (2), M. Alushett, r>. Vesty, and H. Ruddock. Mr Baker controlled the game. Junior Grade.

The scorers for Metnven were Misses i. Dalton (3), M. Croons D. Ireland, A. Jessep. Air A. G MOHardy controlled the game.
