ANOTHER RANGITAIKI FLOOD

OVER 10,000 ACRES INUNDATED. STOCK REMOVED IN TIME. (Per Press Association.) WHAKATANE, This Day. The Rangataiki River is again in full flood, and has ' inundated over 10,000 acres of the plains. All stock was taken awav in time. The settlers left their homesteads before the water surrounded" their houses. The Kopeoueo dredge cut, which runs into the Whakatane River, is five, feet higher than the level of that river owing to the smallness of the floodgates. Three floods experienced in two months'show the urgent necessity of another outlet to the Whakatane River, which always has been advocated by settlers, and which would carry off quickly the flood waters of both the Rangitaiki and Whakatane rivers.
