WAIMATE DISTRICT HUNT CLUB. TIMARU, July 23. The Waimate District Hunt meeting was held in perfect weather, the sun shining brightly all the day, while there was an absence of wind. The attendance was not so large as usual, being chiefly confined to focal sportsmen. The course was soft along the back, but the going in the straight was excellent. The totalisator investments were £4422, compared with £4106 10s last year. The following are details of the racing:—. Studholme Hurdle Handicap, of 100 sovs; one mile and five furlongs—Kaikahu 1, Paddy's Hope 2, Bachelor Gay 3. Won easily by five lengths from Paddy's Hope; eight lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 16seo.

Bluecliffs Hunters' Steeplechase, of 75 sovs; about two miles and a quarter—New Day 1, Happy Mao 2, Grey btar 3. Won by a neck; a length between second and third. Time, 4min 45sec.

Waimate Steeplechase, of 150 sovs; about two miles and .a half—Uncle Bob 1, Kipling 2, Mainspring 3. Won easily by five lengths; four lengths between second and third. Time, 4min 52sec.

. Waihao Hack Handicap, of 75 sovs; six furlongs—Shandre 1, Fairy Tidings A Laughie 3. Won easily by two lengths; a neck between second and third. Time, lmin 23sec. Hunt Club Steeplechase, of 60 sovs; about two miles and a half—Grey Star 1, Message Boy 2, Goodfellow 3. Won by a length; 100 yards between second and third. Time, omin 3*sec.

Morven Welter Handicap, of 100 sovs; seven furlongs—Dancing Days 1, Clontarf 2, Mythology 3. Won by a length and a half; four lengths between second and third. Time, lmin 36$sec.

Results : Park Hurdle Handicap, of 150 sovs; one mile and three-quarters.—Garzon 1, Monte 2, Birka 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 3.26. Maiden Hack Race, of 110 sovs; five furlongs.—Sunlike 1, Gold Streak 2, Three Kings 3. Won by a length. Time, 1.5.

Flying Handicap, of 165 sovs; six furlongs—Nancy Lee, 1, Barrier 2, Princess Ronnie 3. Won by half a length. Time, 1.18.

Gisborne Steeplechase Handicap, of 200 sovs; about three miles.—Thiganthu 1, Maraetotara 2, Mahia 3. Won by half a length. Time, 5.32. Hack Flat Handicap, of 130 sovs; six furlongs.— Kenyon, 1, Manutai 2, Blue Jay 3, Won by a nose. Time, 1.18 1-5.
