FRANCE DEFEATS BRITAIN. • (Reuter.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, July 13. In the Davis Cup preliminary at Eastbourne, Lacoste and Grugncn beat Godfrey and Wheatley 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. They thus assured victory for France over Britain in the semi-final for the European zone.
BOXING. RING OUTPOINTS MAGNILL. (Received This Day, 1.35 p.m.) (Renter.) LONDON, July 13. In a fifteen round cruiser-Weight contest, Ring outpointed Dave Magnill, the Irish champion.
