ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL. COUNTY COMPETITIONS. Only ono game was played in the Ashburton County Sub-Association’s competitions on Saturday. The Ashburton v Methven senior, and the Ashburton v. Methven junior matches were postponed. The senior match between Wakanui and Baring Square, played at Wakanui, ended in a draw, one point each. It. Wilson scored for Wakanui, and N. Johnson for Baring Square. Wakanui had the better combination, but several Baring Squaro players showed great promise. D. Petrie (right wing) played a dashing game for Wakanui, while L. Beauvais and 1). Moodie were the better players for Baring Square. Mr J. Wilson was referee. MATCHES AT CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The High Schools’ past and present pupils contested a match in the Domain on Saturday. The game resulted in a draw, two goals each. For the Old Girls, Misses O. Bowden and M. Dixon M. Mushett. Mr 11.
