. (Per Press -Association—Copyright.) (Received -This Bay, 9 a.m.) i LONDON, April 30. . iThe Dulse of - York, , presiding at the ' Exhibition Commissioners’ luncheon to rfthe British and Overseas Press representatives, described ■ Wembley- as the great unvrasrsity of the greatest human organisation of all time. The 1925 exhibition had sshown fresh aspects of our Imperial life. He was confident of its overwhelming success. The Empire was a great firm, the heads of which should consult as i often as possible. The exhibition would prove the best Morm of consultation. WemY hley was designed to eaiable Britain always to. possess some kind of permanent nucleus of imperial education. He did not suggest an annual full - dress Empire Exhibition,., which was closing definitely, fin 1925, : but more data would then be available as to the best means of establishing a., permanent common Centre to study the problems of Em- . pire development. 1 Mr J..H. Thomas,, who was.Labour Secretary for the Colonies proposing the toast ofi the 'Press, said the Empire was passing.through transition stages. God knows what the future will be. Those who, like, himself, were in .closest contact with, the problems and difficulties %ere more apprehensive than anyone else.
