ALLEGED ATTEMPTED COERCION. . ' AUCKLAND, Feb. 26. Allegations of attempted coercion on the part of a fellow employee, repre- | seating himself as collecting for the Labour Party’s Parliamentary compaign, have been made by an Auckland workman. The man stated that, about a fortnight ago, he was approached and asked to sign a pa-per promising to give one shilling per week, until November 1. Not being a supporter of the Labour Party, although a unionist, lie refused to contribute and stated that he war not in sympathy with the party’s aims He was thereupon told that, if lx would not give money he would be discharged within three weeks. Oth ei men who refused to contribute had beer told the same thing. “I realised that it was bluff,” lx continued. “Nevertheless. if such methods are employed now what would happen if the Labour Party* got into power.”
