SWIMMING.

EAST ASHBURTON CLUB. Four events were got off by the East Ashburton Swimming Club last evening: Two others had been arranged, but as the evening was somewhat chilly they were postponed till next week. The results last evening were as under:— , 50 Yards Junior Handicap—Final : S. Bradford (Bsec) 1, H. Phelps (scr) 2, E. Harrison (Bsec) 3. Time-—43sec. 50 Yards Senior Handicap (Curtis Cup)—Final: E. Brophy (scr) 1, R. Judge (osec) 2, A. McKay (ssec.) 3. Time—3o 1-5 sec.

Diving—A. Shaw 1, E. Brophy 2 Relay Race (75 yards).—A. Stills, G. Day, and E. Brophy (scr) 1; R. Cameron, S. and A. Bradford (llsec) 2. Time—44 2-5 sec. The Ashburton and East Ashburton Amateur Swimming Clubs are sending teams to compete at the Timaru Olu Boys’ Carnival next week. Each club is sending a strong team.
