Mr Robert Bell has been elected fj president of the Canterbury School, of • Arts.
Mr C. W. Purnell, of Ashburton, is about again after, his recent illness. ,
Mr and Mrs W. S. Strange, of " Riverside," Tinwald, who have been on a visit to the Old Country, Canada, and the United States, arrived at Auckland by the-Niagara on Monday.
Mr E. G. Sealy, formerly assistant manager of the National Bank at Auckland, has left the northern city to open a new branch at Ashburton, says our Auckland correspondent.
