CITY BOMBARDED

THE BRAZILIAN RISING.

FOOD SUPPLY SHORT. CIVILIANS IN DANGER. (Per Press Association—Copyright.) ( Received July 28, 10.10 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 27. Advices from Sao Paulo state that a quarter of a million civilians are still there, despite an occasional bombardment from the Brazilian Federals. Every night raids cause severe fighting in the suburbs of the city. Fires are frequent, and food is scarce. The leading hotels have been transformed into hospitals, and some of the finest buildings have been badly damaged by shells. A report circulated in Rio suggests that the rebellion lias spread to other cities, but the censorship is so tight that it is difficult to obtain an idea of the general situation.
