Amid Labour cheers, the Commons carried the third reading of the Government's Housing Bill. The Conservatives' motion for rejection was dej feated by 226 to 131. The Bill was read a first time in the Lords. Mr J. Wheat-ley . (Minister" for Health) admitted jihat the Bill was not Socialism. He said he was sorry he was not in the position to introduce a Socialistic measure, but _ the country was not ready for Socialism. The statement was received with loud Opposition cheers.
