THE WEATHER.
24 POINTS OF RAIN, The sky became overcast towards evening yesterday, and heavy rain set in about 9 p.m., driven by a strong south-west wind. Twenty-four points was registered during the few hours of rainfall. The sky was clear again at dawn, and five degrees of frost was registered. < A northerly breeze has been in evidence to-day, with the sky clear. Yesterday’s temperatures were 46 and 32 degrees, maximum and minimum respectively. The barometer has continued to rise, and stood at 30.22 at 9 a.m. to-day, as compared with. 29.88 24 hours previously.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The following forecast was issued:— The indications are for southerly winds, squally at times. The weather will probably prove- cold and showery, but the weather should improve. There will probably be a hard frost to-night. The barometer has a rising tendency.
