The "Toronto Mail and Empire" says the Ontario Provincial Government will take a liquor, referendum on October 23, in fulfilment of the Premier, Mr Ferguson's, election pledge for "the vote of the people if and when public opinion demands it."

KILLED IN SASKATCHEWAN. REGINA, July. 16. Saskatchewan killed Prohibition in to-day's plebiscite by a large majority. In both country and cities the vote favours Government control of liquor. The clause providing for retail sale of beer was defeated.

REPEAL BILL REJECTED. DECISION OF NORWEGIAN CABINET. OHRISTIANIA, July, 16. Parliament rejected the Government's measure repealing the prohibition of the sale of spirits.
