SUPPOSED CANCER CURE.
AMERICAN DOCTOR'S CLAIM. ■- p ....-■-..■ -j ;-..■;, : V.:\-. "> •" NEW YORK/ June 10. In Tegard to the alleged cancer (urej the "Philadelphia Public Ledger" mblishes a qualifying statement from wo Philadelphia specialists, Drs. Warnuth and Donnelly, who have been rorking with Dr. Glover. They regret the first announcement lefore experimental work has made he discovery sso certain that results ould be given to the medical profusion: for this point has not yet been ■eached.
Dr.j Warmuth said that very adraneed and what we're ordinarily called Tiopeless" cases will have little to exact from the new treatment.
"We can get only enough serum to reat experimental cases," he said, 'and do not know when the general >ublic can be supplied in a manner like osalin, It takes 18 months to immunise a horse, so serum production s slow."
AUSTRALIAN OPINION. (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Medical circles are not impressed rath Dr. Glover's reported discovery hat cancer is due to a microbe. They eclare the life history of cancer so ar as is known is inconsistent with Dr. Hover's claim. None of the previous Mms that it is caused by different orasites had stood tests. The claim jfregarded as a big one and positive roof is required before it will be acepted. At the same time, doctors xpress the hope that the cause of disase and the remedy have been discovred. If so, research of the future will ave to be made in an entirely new iirection.
