The Paris correspondent of the "Morning Post" states that the Franco-American committee administering the Rockefeller gift has decided to utilise 7,000,000 francs—-one-third of the gifV—immediately. . A million francs will he devoted to repairing the roof and angel tower of Rheims Cathedral and re-establishing the superstructure to its state before bombardment. Reinforced concrete will be used, in order to avoid the danger of fire. Two million francs will be expended at Fontainbleau, and 4,000,000 at Versailles.
The gift at the present exchange rate represents between 19,000,000 and 20,000,000 francs.
