SOLICITOR CHARGED.
ALLEGED FABLUHE TO ACCOUNT. Lionel Lancelot Hitchings, 34 years of age, solicitor, who was arrested at Rakaia on Friday on a charge of fading to account for a sum of £ls to Duncan, CotteriU and Co solicitors, Christchurch, appeared before Mr i±. Y Widdowson, S.M., at the Christchurch Magistrate's Court on Saturday. On the application of the police, accused was remanded till next Wednesday. Bail was allowed. It was stated that there were no further charges pending agamst ditchings. Accused, for whom Mr Charles appeared, was charged that on April 2d, 1924 at Christchurch, he received hb from David George Falconer on terms requiring him to pay the money to DuEhf Cotterill and Co., and did fraudulently omit to do so. lhe second charge was a similar one in respect to £lO, also alleged to have been received by accused from David
George Falconer. • .' . . Chief-Detective Gibson asked toi a remand until next Wednesday. Mr Charles applied for bail.
