The base and foundation of a Roman villa was unearthed at Folkestone lately. Two pieces of Samian ware, a Constantine com, a piece or Celtis pottery, a bronze brooch, many Roman black cooking pots r _and a number of bones were dug up. '•'■*'
When the inmates of Stockhay Farm, Highampton, Devon, were asleep, a burglar entered the bedroom of the occupier, took keys from his trousers pocket, unlocked drawers and decamped with a large sum of money and the deeds of the farm.
Kent County Council have passed a by-law which will render the offenders liable to a penalty of £5, when, on any public coach, or other public carriage, they shall use any noisy instrument, or make any outcry, or throw any money to children.
