The exclusive use of New Zealand stone in the erection of the Auckland War Memorial Museum is favoured by a great many citizens, but (says the “Herald”) the question of the suitability of the various stcmes for the purpose ha? been the subject of a good d-al of controversy. A practical suggestion. which may prove very helpful fbp War Memorial Committee m its final decision, was made at the meeting of the committee of the Aucke,nfj Industrial Association, when Mr q' ‘Lamb, of the Auckland School of Mines, offered to make tests of any stone proposed to be used.
