(Pfej Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, March 12.
Mr Bowden (Federal Minister of Defence) states he has graye fears that Mr Ramsay MacDonald will sacrifice the Singapore scheme so as to clear the way for greater evpenditure on air defence, in order to defend England against attack from the air. It is probable that, unless the Commonwealth Government receives definite news this week, Australia will demand to be told what the British Cabinet's intentions are.
3 COMMUNICATION RECEIVED.
MELBOURNE, March 12
Mr Bruce (Prime Minister) states that he has received a cable from the Imperial Government regarding the Singapore base, and is referring it to Cabinet for consideration.
MR WILFORD WAITS. WELLINGTON, March 12. Asked by a "Post" reporter whether he had anything to say regarding Mill. E. Holland's opposition to the Singapore base, Mi- T. M. Wilford (Leader of the Opposition), who recently visited Singapore, said that he was waiting for someone to advance arguments against the base, instead of talking generalities. As soon as this was done definitely and clearly, he would be quite prepared to meet those arguments. He had never heard Mi- Holland advocating any method of Imperial or Empire defence.
