(Per Press Association, Copyright). (Received This Day, 11 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. On the arrival of the Geranium Commander Bennet stated that the vessel was dogged .by ill-luck, dating from the time when an officer found a strangely-shaped log lying in the bush on Turtle Island.
The log was painted red and yellow. It was hollow and was plugged with human bones.
The six aboriginals oil board the Geranium became alarmed at the sight of the log, muttering “debbil.” After experiencing a number of mishaps it was decided the log was “hoodoo,” and it was resolved to land it.
After that lyjd been done a smooth trip was enjoyed.
