ACCIDENTS & DEATHS
GORED BY A BULL, (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Edward Evans, 47 years of age, farm hand, employed on Mr A. E. Aymes’s farm, Loeston, Lakeside, was gored by a hull yesterday morning, and died shortly before he reached the Christchurch Hospital. Mn Aymes, about 10 a.m., heard Evans calling. He found him lying alongside a fence in a paddock next the paddock in which the bull was kept. Evans was covered with mud, his clothes were torn, and ho was severely cut on tlTe body. Dr. Volkman and Dr. Ick-Hewins attended to him and ordered his removal to the hospital. An inquest will be held at the Courthouse, Christchurch,- at 11.dU a.m. to-day.
YOUNG MAN’S DEATH. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day, An inquest into the death of Patrick Michael Mackle, 25 years of age, who died from injuries received in a motorcar accident on the North Road, Belfast, on June 26, was conducted by Mr H. Y. Widdowson,- Coroner, this eV Henry Montague Richmond said that Mr Mackle was a farmer at Kaikoura. He was the picture of health when he left witness’s house at 8 a.m. on June 26'. He was married three’ weeks agm In the hospital he said that the driver of the car was on his wrong side, and went to pull out or swerve. The driver of the horse in the trap- thag collided with the car, deceased added, pulled out at the same time. He also said something about the horse being a young one, and rearing up, and about the car swerving to avoid a _ Further inquiry was adjourned sme die:-

CRUSH EH BY MOTOR LORRY. ,P'Ai;MERSTON*NCIRTH, July 5. Cl i fiord Hopwell, aged 12-1, was crushed by the’ rear wheel of a motor lorry yesterday". The boy had seized hold of* tfo’side-of the lorry, and was being pulled' alhng, when his bicycle wheel skidded and he was thrown under the wheel, -which passed over the abdomen. The injured Tad was. conveyed ter the hospital, where his injuries were round’ to> be serious.

A search for Andrews’s body is proceeding.

PALMERSTON NORTH, July 5. Charles Peacock, about 45, married, but with' no children, dropped dead in the street ttwii’glit fcmi heart failure. Fomerly he was a resid'ent of Rotorua, but had'been In Palmerston North about four months.
