METHVEN RIFLE CLUB.

The Miniature Rifle Club has been successfully launched, and is being triven very encouraging support, lne secretary reports a financial membership roll of 80, with many more to come in. The club has proved to be filling a big place in the amusements list of the community, and to cope with the large number of members, shoots are held twice weekly. The club intends to compete for the Ashburton County Shield. A team will be selected shortly. . A hare drive is being organised. The hares shot will be donated to the club. It is the intention of the club to use the proceeds toward the purchase of an additional rifle. Mr M. Holland (secretary of the club) was successful in regaining possession of the “ Hotty Button” last week.
