LIMITING ARMAMENTS.

RUSSIA PROPOSES CONFERENCE

PARIS, March 15

The Russian Trade Delegation states that the Soviet Government will participate in an international conference, under the auspices of the League of Nations, to consider the extension of the principles of the Washington Treaty for the limitation of armaments.

M. Tchitcherin states that the Soviet Government still considers that the League of Nations is a coalition of a few States unwarrantably attempting to usurp the power of others, hut the Soviet is participating with a view to minimising the war burden weighing on the world’s workers.
