LLOYDS' ANNUAL REPORT.
The annual report of Lloyds' Register shows that the new tonnage classed by the society during the year ended June 30 decreased by 25 per cent, compared with 1919-20. There has been such extensive reductions m plans submitted to the society m recent months as to indicate an unprecedented slump m new tonnage. Fifty-eight per cent, of the new ships are to be for oil-burn-ing, and for the first time m the society's history more oil-burners than coal-burners have been built.
